I first started practicing yoga over 20 years ago in South Africa and have continued in the Iyengar yoga tradition since. Yoga asana, Yoga Pranayama, and its benefits became my way of life since 2010 when I started studying to become a certified Iyengar yoga instructor. I love the outdoors and participate in both road and mountain biking, swimming, running, skiing, golf, hiking and trekking, amongst other things. I've integrated my yoga practice as a tool to facilitate and enhance my recreational endeavours. This has enabled me to not only remain injury-free but also improve my mental health and purpose. I am passionate about the benefits of yoga for the mind and body, specifically how yoga practice can act as our personal support structure for day to day living. I believe that with regular practice we can live a healthy, beneficial and active lifestyle.

Yoga classes for special needs

These classes are designed for students who are new to the practice of Yoga Asana and Pranayama. Similarly these classes are relevant for students who have any physical limitations that require additional assistance from me. The student will be guided to use the correct yoga props pertaining to their condition, allowing for any extra time needed to set up. In this class, if required, students will be given alternate Asana so that they can safely practice yoga and still obtain all the benefits the practice has to offer. These classes will have fewer students attending, providing a greater personalised experience per session.

Group Class Practice

The general class will be taught in the Iyengar yoga tradition Lvl 1/2 & 3. These classes will include a weekly practice sheet together with any additional information pertaining to the given sequence for the prescribed weekly practice. The student will have access to a short instructive video describing each Asana then consolidated with a taught class lasting 1.5 hours.

Private Classes

A private class lasting 45 minutes is suitable for students experiencing any particular needs that require my personal assistance. A private class is suitable for someone wanting to 'fast track' their personal yoga practice or requiring a specialised practice that will suit their goals and specific requirements. In some cases I will advise the need for a private class before joining the general or special requirements  classes.

A student participating in a private class will also have access to the general class notes and videos.
